Shopping:

- Every day needs: Konzum and the market in Lovran (fresh fish until noon)

- Local wine, oil and other specialties: Pepperoncino (old town Lovran. Ask owner Edi for a tasting, he is absolutely passionate and knowledgable about local wines and oils)

- Market in Opatija (every morning until 1pm, very fresh produce, local meat, cheese, fish)

- Whole Food: Nola Natura, Opatija

- Local Produce: Veronika delicatessen, near Lidl in Matulji

- For the sweet tooth: Kakaokakao in Volosko

- If you liked the BRIST olive oil and want to get more: order at their online shop to Villa Ventana, Zaheji 21, 51415 Lovran. It takes 1-2 days and is much, much cheaper than oils you get at stores around here. Or ask us, we usually have a couple of extra bottles.

Surf and Turf

Throughout the summer, there are plenty of events in Lovran

There is a small beach directly by the Lovran pier.

If you like it less crowded, take a stroll along the Lungomare, the walkway by the sea, and find many secluded bays

If you are up for real Beach Feeling, go to Medveja or Mosenicka Draga. On both beaches you find plenty of restaurants, bars, all the beach activities you wish for and long pebble beaches

Scuba Diving: Great for beginners and advanced. Wreck diving.

Jet Ski, Windsurfing, Canoes: for rent in Medveja and Moscenicka Draga

Private Boat Charter call Leonardo: +385 (0)91 3599678

There are endless well maintained trails on Ucka. Find detailed maps in the hallway. You can take the footpath from the garden gate all the way up the mountain

Or: take a walk along the Lungomare (Coastal Trail) and take a Taxi Boat back

Olive Oil / Wine / Truffle Tour through Istria

Istria...how to describe it in a nutshell? We like to call it "Bonsai Tuscany"

Our favorites:

Olive oil: we highly recommend Brist Oil and Cadelena. Both offer tastings and fun, child friendly and informative tours through their olive grove

Wine: there are plenty of great wineries around Motovun and Buje. Here you happen to also find fantastic restaurants and truffle shops

We like the Kabola winery in Momjan/Buje and the Restaurant  Stari Podrum

Our favorite romantic village to visit: Groznjan, lots of local craft and art

If you like oysters, have them picked for you in Limski Fjord, Restaurant Fjord
