Lovran is a picturesque medieval fishing village on the Opatija Riviera.

It is much less touristically developed than it’s bigger and more famous neighboring villages Opatija and Moscenicka Draga and could therefore keep it’s authenticity, charme and unique flair.

Nevertheless, it boasts several excellent restaurants, serving fresh fish and other local specialties, coffee and wine bars, a supermarket, a fish- meat- and vegetable market and a delicatesse shop with local products and wines.

Lovran is famous for its cherries, chestnuts and wild asparagus. When in season, there are many festivities celebrating the harvest.

A beautiful 7 km foot path along the sea connects several villages along the coast.

Along the way you will find plenty of hidden bays and coves inviting you to take a swim.

Lovran lies right at the foot of the mountain Ucka (1.400 m) which boasts a marvelous National Park with waterfalls, wild forests and endless well maintained trails for hiking and mountain biking.

The trail going all the way up from the ocean to the top of the mountain leads right past the back door of Villa Ventana.
